Our new year 6's!
Wow what a busy week we have had in year 6! It has been so lovely welcoming all our year 6's back into school and watching them step up to the challenge of being in Elm Class. We have had lots of fun this week and I am already impressed with how hard they have been working!

Lockerbie Manor
Year 6 had a fantastic residential at Lockerbie Manor in September. They did a range of outdoor activities including archery, zip wire, canoeing, kayaking, climbing wall and various team challenges. All the pupils overcame some personal challenges as well as having a lot of fun!
McMillan Coffee Morning
Our Year 6 pupils hosted a McMillan Coffee Morning. We invited parents and members of the community and then they were rewarded for their hard work with a cup of tea and a cake.
Year 6 Knitting Group
Jan from Knit and Natter has been coming into school each week to teach groups of Year 6 to knit. They are making squares which will be sewn together to make pet blankets for the RSPCA.
Year 6 Car Wash Fund-raiser
This week, Year 6 pupils spent a morning at A&G Precision washing cars to raise funds for their end of year trips. They washed a lot of cars and raised £225. Thanks to A&G for providing a well-earned lunch.
Seaside Art
Elm Class have been using the seaside as an inspiration for their art. You may see some of their work on display in the new community room at the Over Wyre Medical Centre.
Visit to BAE Systems
Year 6 had a fantastic experience visiting BAE Systems in Salmesbury. The visit was organised by A&G Precision, following the STEM workshop they attended earlier in the year. A group of STEM Ambassadors described their roles within the company and then set the pupils a Lego building challenge.…
