Exploring shadows
As part of their Science topic on light, Year 6 have been exploring how shadows are formed and also why the shape of a shadow changes through the day.
Hammock building
How many boys can you get in a hammock before it falls down?
Science Week
We made play dough using different ingredients and then explored them in our circuits. The play dough containing salt and cream of tartare allowed electricity to flow through it as it is a conducting dough. We found the dough made with sugar to be an insulating material.
CD Recycling!
The Year Six used Cds to create a Christian symbol. The children had to work as a team, use a glue gun and find a way to fix the Cds together securely.
Light Dance at the Marine Hall
Year 6 were fabulous last week in the dance competition and got great comments from the 3 judges. It was also good to watch performances from the other schools. Well done to the children who took part!
Pottery Sessions
Our student teachers, Miss Hadley and Miss Williams have helped Year 6 pupils to design and make a piece of pottery for a special occasion which is coming up very soon. (Watch this space!)
