Science - Teeth and Eating
The children used different tools to cut, rip and grind food then matched these tools to the function of human teeth.
Global Renewables Visit
Willow Class enjoyed their day out at Global Renewables in Leyland. The children completed 'hands on' sorting activities using methods the real machines use then were fascinated when touring the facility. What a lot of rubbish!!
Settings and Sculpture
We have been using our hands and scissors to sculpt a setting from the Three Billy Goats Gruff.
I will HUFF and PUFF!
We are leaning which characters are good and which characters are bad!
Number time
We have been using numbers to 20 and putting them in order!
Investigating materials...
We have been designing a waterproof coat for Baby bear. We had to predict if plastic, cotton, tin-foil or paper would keep him dry!
We had to change the material but keep the amount of water we used the same.
We love BAKING!!
We have been combining ingredients to create our own gingerbread man.
I don't think our biscuits had time to run away!
How can we get the gingerbread man across the river?
The children in Ash class have been problem solving as a team. We are learning to talk to each other, listen to each others ideas and to perservere when things don't go to plan!
Playing games and taking turns
We have been learning about size and putting objects in order. This game is good for practising taking turns and learning how to say 'well done' to the winner.
Busy fingers to Sculpt
We have been prodding, poking, rubbing, rolling and squishing porridge play-dough to make a sculpture!
We love SNOW!!!!!
We have a Winter wonderland in our weather station. Sythetic snow is available to buy on Amazon and it is GREAT FUN! We have added a snowman, polar bear, pengiuins and seals for role play.
Here are some of the words the children used to describe it.....
cold, squashy, slippery, funny,…
Our Ash Class tree
We have made our own decorations whilst in the forest. We have been sawing and sticking!
