Some children in reception decided to go into the maths area and complete the challenge! Bella has been using compare bears to figure out the answer to half of ten. Bella split the compare bears equally between herself and Mrs Green and discovered that half of ten is 5. Fantastic maths work going…
Fractions
We have been learning how fractions are part of a whole, and a fraction is something split into equal parts. We have also been using the vocabulary numerator and denominator. The children have been using salt dough and 2D shapes to create halves and quarters.
Exploring pumpkins
We picked the pumpkins we had grown and investigated the inside of them.

Finding Dinosaur teeth in our sensory garden!
We have been frantically digging for dinosaur findings in our sensory garden. The children hae absolutely loved their first day as a dinosaur detective! 'Miss Moore quick we have found three dinosaur teeth in the snesory garden and some baby eggs!'
Jurassic park
Today I introduced our new topic to the children, DINOSAURS! They absolutely loved creating a jurassic park using the small world dinosaurs, rocks and trees! They even put a volcano in the middle of the land.

The children worked really hard in a team to create a 'train trap', they worked together to lift the different objects and designed a fantastic creation!
Our improved outdoors!
The children have really enjoyed using all of the areas outside today. We have a new sand shed, the children have produced some fantastic collaborative play in the sand.
