Where do you read? Willow Class have been reading in their favourite places. The children asked someone to take a photograph and we have made a display in the classroom.
United Utilities
This week we had a visit from Jane from United Utilites to talk to us all about water. We did lots of practical activities and learned many new things about water. We are all trying really hard to be careful and use less water.

Super 3D Clay Models
Willow Class have been working hard studying fruit. Their clay 3D models are great. The children shaped the clay whilst closely observing fruit. The models then went to Pilling Pottery to be baked in their kiln. The children then painted the fruit using different techniques to create texture…
Science - The Human Body
Willow Class are learning about 'The Digestive System'. With the help of our torso model (Josephine) the children were able to dismantle and reassemble the digestive system along with other organs.
The Art of Food
We have been studying food and looking at art work by famous artists such as Renoir's study of onions and Cezanne's apples. The children then used blending and dabbing techniques to create watermelon masterpieces.
Science - Teeth and Eating
The children used different tools to cut, rip and grind food then matched these tools to the function of human teeth.
Global Renewables Visit
Willow Class enjoyed their day out at Global Renewables in Leyland. The children completed 'hands on' sorting activities using methods the real machines use then were fascinated when touring the facility. What a lot of rubbish!!
Remembrance Day
In Willow Class the children all made their own poppy and created a wreath to remember all the service men and women who have lost their lives to defend our country.
