Netball Gala tournament
A huge well done to our netball team at the Preesall and Knott End Gala inter-school netball tournament! 
The children showed fantastic determination, tried their very best in every match and never gave up.

Ash Class zoo trip
Ash Class had an AMAZING time at the zoo, on one of the hottest days of the year. We loved exploring all the animals and watching the sea lion show. We loved it that much, we watched it twice! Some of our favourite moments included seeing the baby elephant, playing at the park, having ice lollies…
International Dance Day

Digital Art in Ash Class
Today, we have started our unit on digital art. We looked at different tools such as paintbrush, drawing, paint fill, rubber and changing the size/colour of each tool. We explored the tools before creating a picture of our faces. Both the receptions and Year 1's did a great job...it was amazing…
Vet visitors
Today, Beech and Ash Class had a lovely visit from Nicola and Katie from Lanes Vets. Not forgetting Nicola’s very cute collie ‘Stormy’.
We made different animal sounds, looked at x-rays and had to guess what was wrong. We listened to Stormy’s heart beat, dressed up as vets and used bandages…

Science
In Science today, Oak Class had a great lesson outside learning about animals' needs for survival. In teams, we created our own mini ponds to create the best homes for amphibians. We will be checking next week if we have anything in our ponds! Continue reading
Design and Technology
We had a great first lesson in our first design and technology lesson. We learnt about how to join two pieces of fabric together and trying out different ways to see which is best. This will help us when making our puppets in a few weeks.
Art
Oak Class had a fab time using different skills to shape and form patterns with play dough! We can't wait to use these skills to make our animals out of clay.
Science
Today in science, we explored different types of rocks and found a variety of ways to describe them using ourselves to feel and describe how the rocks looked, magnifying glasses, microscopes, weighing scales.
