One of our children is currently in hospital in Manchester receiving treatment for Leukaemia.

Her treatment is expected to mean that she will have intensive chemotherapy for a few weeks and then return to school after Easter while she continues with less intensive treatment for two years.

We will work sensitively with children in school to help them to understand at their level.

The booklets on the following link are downloadable and parents may wish to look at them with children or read for their own information:

The two most relevant booklets (towards the bottom of the page):

Jack's Diary is written from the perspective of a child who has been through the treatment.

Wiggly's World is a child-friendly explanation of treatment and medical terms.
