Chopping, Peeling and Juicing fruit and veg!
This afternoon Ash class have been learning how to juice, chop and peel different fruits and vegetables. We all thoroughly enjoyed using peelers and sharp knives and worked very sensibly and carefully.
Chinese New Year
We have been busy creating our Chinese Dragon heads using cardboard boxes. We had great fun with different paints, glitter and al other materials! We then had a Chinese Dragon dance on the playground listening to Chinese Dragon music.
Chinese New Year
We have had a very exciting past 2 days celebrating Chinese New Year! Here a range of children from Key Stage 1 created a Chinese Dragon in the outdoor construction. They used fantastic team work skills and their understanding and knowledge of China is brilliant.
Outdoor Maths!
We have been on the playground representing numbers using rods and dots with chalk this morning!
It's December!
We have a sensory tray full of Christmas decorations, the children have really enjoyed rooting through the tray and linking it to their own decorations at home!
Multi Skills
The children have thoroughly enjoyed having Jake from Fleetwood Town FC in to teach them multi skills in PE.
Little Red Riding Hood
The children in reception have been working together to create a Little Red Riding Hood jigsaw after reading and re-writing the fairytale.
We know how to work out the answer to half of ten!
Some children in reception decided to go into the maths area and complete the challenge! Bella has been using compare bears to figure out the answer to half of ten. Bella split the compare bears equally between herself and Mrs Green and discovered that half of ten is 5. Fantastic maths work going…
Fractions
We have been learning how fractions are part of a whole, and a fraction is something split into equal parts. We have also been using the vocabulary numerator and denominator. The children have been using salt dough and 2D shapes to create halves and quarters.
Finding Dinosaur teeth in our sensory garden!
We have been frantically digging for dinosaur findings in our sensory garden. The children hae absolutely loved their first day as a dinosaur detective! 'Miss Moore quick we have found three dinosaur teeth in the snesory garden and some baby eggs!'
Jurassic park
Today I introduced our new topic to the children, DINOSAURS! They absolutely loved creating a jurassic park using the small world dinosaurs, rocks and trees! They even put a volcano in the middle of the land.
