It’s been a busy few weeks in Beech Class!
We spent yesterday chopping and experiencing the different smells of the pumpkins and describing how they felt. We decided that they didn’t smell great, felt very slimy and the seeds were sticky! We thought about what would happen if we planted the seeds and all the different things we can make with pumpkins.
Last week, we had a very special visitor - Harold! Karen brought Harold for a visit and he told us how to look after ourselves, making sure brush our teeth, get lots of exercise and lots of rest. Some of us were really brave and had a picture with Harold - he was super soft and friendly!
The past 2 weeks, we have had a focus on Space. We have learnt that in space there are different planets, and we are lucky to live on Earth! We thought about the different characteristics of each planet and then made our own, working really hard to make them look like the real thing!
We got to play with some extra special moon sand and alien slime … it was very messy but the children were fantastic at describing the different textures!
Miss Reeves found that we had lots of chocolate and rice crispies left over so we got to make some yummy crispy cakes that we had for our snack!
This week, we have trialled our new painting area. We are only given red, blue, yellow and white and now have the challenge of mixing the colours that we desire! We have a handy sheet to help us and have had so much fun experimenting with all the colours!
There was lots of other fun activities going on which you can see from our pictures!
I hope you all have a lovely half term and we are looking forward to welcoming the children back on Tuesday 29th October.
